The board of directors of Borderland Pride is currently accepting applications to serve on its Pride 2024 organizing committee.
As part of a governance review and succession plan for the organization, the organizing committee will be responsible for coordinating all events and initiatives for the Pride 2024 festival. This includes identifying event partners, sponsors, and grant contributions. The organizing committee will include a chair or co-chairs, and will have the oversight and support of the board of directors, including for its financial administration.
To be eligible to apply to be on the organizing committee, you must reside in the Rainy River District or Koochiching County and be age 19 or older. 2SLGBTQIA+ identifying individuals and allies are encouraged to apply. These are volunteer roles and no compensation will be provided.
Selection for the organizing committee is skills-based; however, individuals can still volunteer for Borderland Pride on specific events or initiatives even if they are not selected for a role on the committee. Applications can be submitted via email to borderlandpride@gmail.com and must include this form (download in Word or PDF). The application deadline is October 20, 2023, but applications will be accepted until the committee is sufficiently filled.
Organizing committee members who plan and execute at least one Pride festival will be considered for future appointment to the board of Borderland Pride, as part of the succession planning and renewal of the organization.
Borderland Pride is a not-for-profit corporation. Its annual festival is typically held in June and has featured as many as 20 events and initiatives organized by the event co-chairs in partnership with local volunteers and partnering organizations.
